Another helicopter kind of day around here! Big thanks to Air Evac Lifeteam 135 for flying in this morning and helping get our patient to a higher level of care. ACCESS is so important in rural communities like ours where distance and time matter.

Also, thank you again to Wetumka Fire Department for the assistance on scene today. We appreciate the teamwork and support every time. 🚁🚑🚒

Severe weather and heavy rain is possible in Oklahoma through Wednesday. We've already seen road flooding reported yesterday in eastern Oklahoma. As you're going about your weekend activities, stay weather aware and be ready to take action if needed:

🏠 Find safe shelter wherever you are - home, outdoors, etc.
🚙 Take a different route to avoid flooded roads
📱 Communicate with family and friends
🎒 Keep your emergency kit handy
🚨 Have multiple ways to receive warnings and turn up the volume

▶️ Identify and clean out your safe place - lowest level, innermost room, with no windows
▶️ Review your communication plan
▶️ Stock your emergency kit
▶️ Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts

We’ve received several phone calls regarding burning in the area. At this time, there is NO burn ban in place.

If you choose to conduct a controlled or prescribed burn, please take the following precautions:

📞 Notify dispatch
• Contact your local municipal dispatch an/or your local fire department prior to burning

• We are still in a severe to extreme drought
• Fires can escape quickly, even under seemingly safe conditions

🧯 Practice fire safety
• Always have a safety plan in place
• Keep water, tools, and personnel ready
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Ensure the fire is completely out and cold to the touch before leaving

🚫 Do not burn if conditions are windy or unfavorable
