Today our staff is participating in a “Darkness to Light” training focused on sexual abuse prevention and awareness.

At ECFRC, we are committed to creating safe spaces for children, strengthening families, and equipping our team with the knowledge needed to recognize, respond to, and prevent abuse.

Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility, and we are grateful for opportunities like this that help us serve our community with greater care, awareness, and integrity.

We are especially thankful for Angela with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System for leading today’s “Darkness to Light” training.

We appreciate her guidance and expertise as our team continues learning how to better recognize, respond to, and prevent child sexual abuse. This training strengthens our commitment to keeping children safe and supporting families well.

This is who ECFRC is. ❤️

We believe strong families build strong communities.

Every day, we lead educational programs that strengthen families, connect individuals to vital resources, and remove barriers that stand in the way of success. Whether it’s parenting education, workforce development, family support services, or community partnerships, our mission is to help families become healthy, thriving, and self-sufficient.

We don’t just provide services—we build relationships, create opportunities, and walk alongside families as they work toward a brighter future.

Together, we are strengthening families and transforming our community, one connection at a time.

🎉 We have some exciting news! 🎉
We are incredibly honored that the Elmore County Family Resource Center's Snacks in a Backpack program has been selected as the featured donation opportunity at an upcoming community event on Friday, June 26, from 7:00–9:00 PM!
📍 1405 Chapel Rd, Wetumpka, AL 36092
This special evening will include a community watch party of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square's Songs of Hope concert, along with games and activities for the whole family. Most importantly, it's a chance for our community to come together to help "Fill the Truck" with food donations for local children facing food insecurity.
In Elmore County alone, 1 in 6 children experiences food insecurity. Through our Snacks in a Backpack program, weekend food bags are provided to students who may not have enough to eat when school meals aren't available. Donations of individually wrapped snacks and easy-to-prepare shelf-stable meals help ensure these children return to school ready to learn.
We would love for anyone interested in supporting our agency and this program to join us!
❤️ Bring a donation.
❤️ Bring your family.
❤️ Help us Fill the Truck and make a difference for local children.
