We are excited to host Birth Bound at the Elmore County Family Resource Center!

📅 Saturday, September 26, 2026
⏰ 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 ECFRC | 917 W. Osceola Street, Wetumpka

Birth Bound is designed to help expecting moms learn ways to get more comfortable during early labor and help prepare and align their bodies for childbirth. (Google Sites)

The class will be led by Sheila Watkins, founder of Healthy Moms® Fitness Programs and a perinatal fitness specialist with more than 30 years of experience working with pregnant and postpartum moms. (Google Sites)

💗 What to bring:
• Yoga mat or blanket
• Comfortable clothes
• Water bottle if you’d like—water will also be available

🎉💗 HAPPY ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO OUR MOM’S WALK!

Today we celebrated ONE FULL YEAR of walking, moving, connecting, and supporting moms through the partnership between the Elmore County Family Resource Center’s Nurturing Together program and Sheila Watkins of Healthy Mom’s® Fitness!

For the past year, Sheila has faithfully volunteered her time to help us create a space where pregnant and postpartum moms can focus on movement, maternal health, mental wellness, and connection with other moms.

But this has become about so much more than a workout.

It’s about reminding moms that their health matters too. It’s about community, encouragement, preparing for birth, navigating motherhood, caring for the whole woman, and giving moms a safe place to show up exactly where they are.

Today, we celebrate ONE YEAR of showing up for moms!

We are incredibly grateful for Sheila and the heart she has poured into the women we serve. Thank you for partnering with us, encouraging our moms, and helping us continue our mission of supporting healthy moms, healthy babies, and stronger families.

🌟 Our RISE Afterschool Program is off to an AMAZING start! 🌟

We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve these incredible kids each afternoon!

It has been so much fun watching them learn, laugh, build friendships, and experience new things together.

Our afternoons are filled with so much more than just afterschool care. Our students are getting opportunities to participate in STEM activities, Spanish, social-emotional learning, reading and math enrichment, creative projects, hands-on learning, and plenty of time to simply connect and have FUN! 📚🧪🎨

One of our favorite parts has been watching relationships form—not only between the kids, but also between our staff and students. Creating a place where children feel safe, supported, encouraged, and excited to come each day is exactly what we hoped for.

We are incredibly thankful for the partnerships and support that have made RISE possible and for the families who trust us with their children.

We’re just getting started, and we cannot wait to see how much these kids RISE this year!
