The Dalkeith Volunteer Fire Department /Chief Tripp Barrier and Rockin' M Ranch/Russell McMillian teamed up with some pretty awesome citizens of the community to assist the people of that were affected by the hurricane. There was supplies and monetary donations that were made to DVFD. They received a list of things that were needed by the community that was purchased with the donated money and brought to them along with enough food to feed 300 people. 200 hamburgers and 100 hot dogs, chips, drinks and condiments. Special thanks to David Rich/Rich's IGA and Subway/Mrs Beverly Pitts for your help with the meal items. Big shout out to Darbey Sweeney for all your help and time you gave Tripp and Russell to unload and prepare food. The Fire Department would like to thank the Gulf Coast Electric Coop for their dangers of electricity training held yesterday at the White City Volunteer Fire Department. The training was conducted using their electric trailer and narrated by Wesley Newsome who is also a volunteer Fire Chief at Stonemill Creek Fire Department. Several Fire Departments, EMS, Law Enforcement, and County representatives were present. The training was excellent!! Afterwards we were all treated to an excellent meal provided by the White City Fire Department. Great job ladies and gentlemen!! Thank you all! We would also like to thank Gulf County Emergency Management Coordinator Matt Herring and County Administrator Michael Hammond for always working to provide the departments with great training and the great food also helps too!!

Another training event with the invitation from Midway Fire Chief Nathaniel Yarusso at Midway Florida fire training area. Gulf County attendees were Gulf County Emergency Management Director Matt Herring, South Gulf Fire Chief Mike Barrett, Dalkeith Fire Chief Tripp Barrier and Captain Glenn Norris. The training was with several other fire departments including Midway Fire/Police, Gretna, Chattahoochee, and Gadsden County EMS on electric battery powered jaws of life tools. The training was conducted by Amkus. The tools proved to be very powerful and useful in extrication of victims in car crashes. Mission Barbecue provided a catered free meal for the training. The training was awesome, many new friends and contacts were made, and we would like to especially like to thank Chief Yarusso, Midway Fire Department, and the City of Midway for having this excellent training and the invitation.
