Heads up! Heavy rain and scattered flash flooding is possible today from the Upper Midwest to the central Gulf Coast. Numerous thunderstorms could be slow-moving at times and contain intense rainfall rates.

Scattered showers and storms are expected today, but storm chances will be decreasing from west to east through the day. Although not widespread, storms may produce a period of very heavy rainfall in small areas leading to localized flooding.

Flash flooding will be possible again today, primarily in eastern Oklahoma, as heavy rains continue to move through the state. A flood watch remains in effect through this afternoon and evening depending on location.

⚠️ 6 inches of water is enough to cause you to lose control of your vehicle.

Local governments with damages to roads, bridges, or other infrastructure are asked to report as well. The best way to report infrastructure damages is by submitting via your county or municipal emergency manager.

Much of the rain showers has moved out of our southwest and that trend will be including central OK as well. By this afternoon much of this activity will be restricted to northern OK with another round of storms coming up from northern TX late this afternoon

With multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected this weekend, we have issued a Flood Watch for most of the forecast area through 6pm Sunday.

1-2 inches of rainfall and localized heavier amounts up to 5 inches are possible.
