cCandless. The McCandless Police Department, located in the Town Hall, includes 20 patrol officers, two school resource officers, a detective, a detective sergeant, three patrol sergeants, a lieutenant, a two-person civilian support staff, and six school crossing guards, under the direction of Chief of Police Ryan Hawk. The Department is organized into three divisions: Administration, Patrol, and Investigations/Crime Prevention. The Town, which is patrolled 24 hours a day, is divided into several different patrol districts, served by 10 marked patrol units. These units provide preventative patrols, response to citizens' complaints, and requests for aid and traffic law enforcement. The police department offers residents a number of community-oriented information programs. You are encouraged to contact 9-1-1 for anything that appears to be suspicious, unusual, or unsafe at your residence, in your neighborhood, or anywhere in the Town. E-mails may be directed to [email protected]. For non-emergencies, dispatch can be reached at 412-473-3056. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (please note, a police officer can be reached 24 hours a day)

Residents may notice an increased presence of police, fire, EMS, and other emergency response vehicles around Ingomar Middle School on Friday, August 7.

This is part of a planned training exercise by the Franklin Park Police Department and not an active emergency. Please avoid the area and follow any temporary traffic or access restrictions while the exercise is underway.

On Friday, August 7, the Franklin Park Police Department, in cooperation with the North Allegheny School District, will conduct a large-scale emergency response training exercise at Ingomar Middle School. The training will involve multiple local, regional, state and federal agencies.

Important details for residents:

🟡This is only a drill: Please be aware that this is a planned exercise and not an active emergency or threat.

🟡Increased emergency presence: You will see a significant number of police, fire, and EMS vehicles around the school throughout the day.

🟡Restricted access: Campus access to Ingomar Middle School will be closed/restricted during the exercise.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as our first responders and school personnel work together to strengthen community safety and emergency preparedness.
