🧼 Clean hands save lives! 🧼

Washing your hands is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and protect yourself, your family, and your community.

Remember to wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds:
✔ Before eating or preparing food
✔ After using the restroom
✔ After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
✔ After changing diapers or caring for someone who is sick
✔ Whenever your hands look or feel dirty

Don't forget to scrub between your fingers, under your nails, and the backs of your hands!

A few seconds at the sink can make a big difference. 💙

All Hands on Deck in Weymouth!!

As severe winds and heavy rain move through our area, it’s truly an all hands on deck effort across Weymouth.

I want to thank the dedicated teams from the Weymouth Department of Public Works, Emergency Management, National Grid, Weymouth Police Department, and Weymouth Fire Department who are actively monitoring conditions and responding to issues as they arise. Their commitment and coordination help keep our community safe during challenging weather events.

Residents are encouraged to use caution, avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense weather, secure any loose outdoor items, and report downed power lines or hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities. Please remember to stay clear of any downed wires and treat them as live.

Thank you to all of the men and women working around the clock to protect our community. Weymouth is fortunate to have such dedicated professionals ready to respond whenever duty calls!

To remove an attached tick, use fine-point tweezers and grasp the tick where its mouthparts enter the skin and pull the tick straight out. Do not twist or squeeze the tick’s body. Remove the tick as soon as possible to lower disease risk.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s today and tomorrow. While this is not currently an official heat advisory, hot weather can still be dangerous; especially for older adults, young children, people with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers, and pets.

☀️ Tips to stay safe in the heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
🕶️ Limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat
🚗 Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles — not even for a minute
🐶 Make sure pets have shade and fresh water
