The Wharton Main Library is excited to host another Connect & Chill: Game Edition! on Friday, September 4, 2026 from1:00pm-4:00pm. Come hang out and play games both online and offline. Bring your Switch, controllers, and favorite games, or jump into the fun with our setup.
We’ll have multiplayer games projected on the walls, board games throughout the library, and plenty of popcorn to keep the fun going. All ages are welcome to join in.
Come ready to play, relax, and connect with fellow gamers.

Join Us for a Special September Senior Wellness Hour this Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 11:30am-12:30pm!
Wharton Main Library is excited to welcome Tonja Moon, founder of The Grand Baby Project, for a special presentation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tonja previously visited our East Bernard Branch Library in July, where she shared the inspiring story behind The Grand Baby Project, an initiative that enhances the lives of individuals living with dementia through lifelike therapy dolls that provide comfort, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose. During this special Senior Wellness Hour, she will discuss how this unique approach supports older adults, caregivers, and the communities that care for them.

Join us at the Wharton Main Library this Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM for a special author visit with Willie Lee Hearse.
Willie Lee Hearse will present his book, The First 50 Years: A Poetry Compilation, a deeply personal and emotionally resonant collection that offers readers an intimate glimpse into his life journey. Calling all crafters!

The Louise Branch Library invites adults to join our new monthly arts and crafts program, Adult Craft Days! Gather your friends and unleash your creativity as you create your own masterpiece in a fun and welcoming environment.

Our first project will be a beautiful Faux Stained Glass craft. All supplies will be provided, so just bring your creativity and get ready for a relaxing and enjoyable morning.

The first Adult Craft Day will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Adult Craft Days will continue once a month on Fridays at 10:00 AM.

The Wharton Main Library invites you to join the Cozy Crochet Club on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM!

Whether you're learning to crochet for the first time or looking to refresh a forgotten skill, this club is the perfect place to create, learn, and connect. Bring your own project or start something new while enjoying a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Browse our collection of crochet books for inspiration, and get your questions answered by Linda, who will be on hand to offer guidance and tips.

The Cozy Crochet Club meets every Monday in August from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Beginning in September, the club will meet every Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
