Wheat Ridge voters will have the opportunity to decide on a proposed one-cent sales and use tax in the November 3 election.

Traffic Alert: August 31, 2026

Two new 20-foot-tall monuments are going up along the Wadsworth corridor on Monday, Aug. 31.

Crews will begin hoisting the monuments into place at approximately 5 a.m., starting near 40th Avenue before moving to the I-70 off-ramp. Work is expected to be complete by midday.

Significant traffic impacts are not anticipated, but the installation may attract some attention from drivers. If you’re traveling through the area Monday morning, please stay focused on the road and use caution around crews.

At Monday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Korey Stites and Wheat Ridge City Council officially proclaimed Aug. 24, 2026, as Rotary Day in Wheat Ridge, recognizing the Rotary Club of Wheat Ridge, Colorado () and Rotary International for their longstanding commitment to service.

Guided by the motto “Service Above Self,” the Wheat Ridge Rotary Club has made a meaningful impact in our community through programs that support neighbors of all ages. From scholarships for high school seniors and Rotary Roses for senior living residents to the Miracle Shop, Feed the Future backpack program, Operation Warm, and more, Rotary members continue to find ways to give back and improve the quality of life in Wheat Ridge.

Thank you to the Wheat Ridge Rotary Club and its members for accepting this proclamation, and for their continued service, generosity, and dedication to our community.

⚠️ TRAVEL ALERT | I-70 at Kipling Street Closures in Arvada/Wheat Ridge in September

Two extended weekend closures are coming to I-70 at Kipling Street (Exit 267) in September 2026 as crews complete bridge repairs.

During the closures, I-70 traffic will be routed through the Kipling Street Interchange using the on- and off-ramps before returning to the interstate. Expect detours and delays of 30 minutes or longer and plan for extra travel time.

• Westbound I-70 - 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22
• Eastbound I-70 - 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29

Prost Biergarten and The Lookout are officially open in Wheat Ridge!

Earlier this week, Mayor Korey Stites and Council Members Dan Larson, Kathleen Martell, and Pat Quinn joined the Prost team to celebrate the new location in Clear Creek Crossing with a ribbon cutting.

Prost Biergarten and The Lookout bring a new brewery, restaurant, and beer garden to the area, adding another gathering place for residents and visitors while bringing new jobs and economic activity to Wheat Ridge.

The opening marks another exciting milestone in the continued growth of Clear Creek Crossing and the thoughtful, high-quality development taking shape in this part of our community.
