Summer in Colorado means more road trips, more time outdoors, and more vehicles on the road. βοΈπ
That's why the Colorado Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Colorado State Patrol, the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, and the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, launched the new Drive Safe Colorado Summer campaign.
This year, staying safe on the road is more important than ever. With ongoing drought conditions across Colorado, simple actions like checking your vehicle before a trip, securing trailer chains and cargo, properly disposing of cigarette butts, and planning ahead can help prevent crashes and reduce wildfire risk.
Before you hit the road:
β
Check your vehicle and tire pressure
β
Secure all loads, trailers, and equipment
β
Plan your route and check road conditions
β
Buckle up and drive distraction-free
β
Never throw cigarette butts from your vehicle
