Today is the Primary Election! The courthouse is closed to allow county employees to serve as election judges. If you need to return your absentee ballot please take them to the Agriplex (59 Antelope Gap Rd.).

Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm. For a list of polling places please visit plattecountywyoming.com.

Unofficial results will be available on the county website after polls close (generally, the first results are posted around 8 am).

We're hiring!

Platte County is accepting applications for the position of Road & Bridge Superintendent. The position will remain open until filled. Position details and applications are available online at https://www.plattecountywyoming.com/jobs/2656/ or in the Office of the County Clerk (800 9th Street, Wheatland; (307)322-2315).

The Superintendent is a full-time position, which provides applicants with paid vacation and sick leave as well as health, dental and vision insurance. Furthermore, Platte County pays an additional 18% of an employee’s salary towards retirement at no cost to the employee. Salary for the position is up to $60,480 annually, depending upon experience.

The public hearings for the Site Layer 4 LLC rezone application have been postponed to August 26th and September 2nd. Both hearings will be held at 1:00 PM at the Agriplex (59 Antelope Gap Road) in Wheatland.

Planning & Zoning will review the request on August 26th at 1:00 PM at the Agriplex. The Board of County Commissioners will review the request on Spetember 2nd at 1:00 PM at the Agriplex. The purpose of the hearings is to accept public comment on the land use request.

The reason for the postponement is to provide for a larger meeting space and a time that may accommodate more individuals. If you wish to submit comments but are unable to attend either meeting you can email comments to [email protected]; mail them to PO Box 728, Wheatland, WY 82201; or deliver them to the Planning Office located at the County Courthouse.

Unofficial Glendo Election Results

The May municipal election for the Town of Glendo was conducted today by the Platte County Clerk's Office. Here are the unofficial results from today's election.

The County Clerk's office will conduct a recount of the results at the County Courthouse on Wednesday, May 6th at 10:00 AM. The results will be canvassed by the Town of Glendo on Wednesday, May 6th at 3:00 PM at Glendo Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend both of these.

Although these results are unofficial, it appears as though Jeston Cundall received enough votes to be elected as Mayor of Glendo. Brenda Hagen and Keith Micke appear to have received enough votes to be elected as Council Members. These results are subject to certification by the Town of Glendo's canvass board on Wednesday.
