Central Hickory Fire Rescue Operates out of 5 Stations. Office Hours 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday We cover Pomme De Terre and Truman lake. With a population of 6000.

Central Hickory Fire Rescue covers an area of 201 square miles of Hickory County and Benton County Mo out of 5 Fire Stations with 33 Fire/Ems personnel and 6 support staff. Central Hickory Fire Rescue is also an ALS licenced provider for EMS up to the Paramedic level. During the months of March through October population can rise to 20,000 to 30,000 in a weekend. ds to structure fires, wild land fires, vehicular accidents, search and rescue, emergency medical calls, and special rescue situations with a fleet of one command truck five engines, one ladder truck, three brush trucks, one tankers, two tanker pumpers, one rescue and one rescue boat. Beyond fire suppression and rescue services, CHFR provides fire safety education to groups of all ages. Holds America Heart Association CPR classes open to everyone.

At around 10:26 am, Central Hickory Fire Rescue received a dispatch call about a vehicle fire in the area of CR 18 and 83 Hwy North. Despite the potential danger of the situation, the firefighters were relieved to find out that the outside temperature was only 97 degrees. They were grateful to Mother Nature for keeping the temperatures below 100 degrees while they were fighting the fire. The scorching heat would have made their job much more difficult and exhausting. The firefighters quickly got to work and were able to successfully put out the fire without any major complications. Please stay safe and keep hydrating!

This morning, the Central Hickory Firefighters gathered to learn about new rope rescue equipment. This new equipment is not only replacing three other rope rescue devices, but it also has impressive safety features integrated into it. The class was led by one of their own firefighters, Mark Harding. With this new equipment and the training provided by Harding, the Central Hickory Firefighters are better equipped to handle any rope rescue situations that may arise in the future.

Central Hickory Fire Rescue is pleased to announce some exciting news. Thanks to the generosity of a citizen within our protection area, the department has received a private donation. This donation has enabled us to purchase a 14 foot Inmar rescue boat equipped with a 30hp outboard motor, along with essential gear such as 3 dry suits, helmets, boots, and rescue vests. Additionally, a custom trailer was included to transport the boat to different locations. We are incredibly grateful to this individual for their trust and support in our efforts to protect and serve the community. With this new boat, Central Hickory Fire Rescue now has two boats at their disposal for various water rescue scenarios, providing even better emergency response capabilities for our community. This donation will greatly benefit our department and the people we serve, and we cannot thank this individual enough for their generosity and contribution.

As the weekend approaches, it is important to remember to prioritize safety in all of our activities. By being mindful and taking necessary precautions, we can prevent accidents and injuries that may result in a trip to the hospital or visit from your firefighters. As the Chief of Central Hickory Fire Rescue, I am proud to say that our community is growing, and with it, the demand for our emergency services. In just a few short years, we have seen a significant increase in the number of calls we respond to each year. From 331 calls in 2020 to an estimated 1,450 calls in 2026, our team of dedicated firefighters and paramedics have been working tirelessly to provide 24/7 coverage across our 201-square-mile area out of 5 stations.

With this growth comes the need for reliable apparatus, equipment, and personnel to meet the increasing demands. Every call we receive represents someone in our community needing help, and we are committed to providing the highest level of service no matter the time of day or night. We are grateful for the trust and support of our community, and we look forward to continuing to serve them with dedication and care in the future.

Over the past few days, Your Central Firefighters have been tirelessly working to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the community. The 4th of July celebrations kicked off with a bang as our firefighters organized a spectacular fireworks display for the residents of Hermitage Nursing and Rehab . The joy on their faces was evident as they watched the colorful display light up the night sky.

On Saturday July 4th, our team provided Fire/EMS standby for the Ozark Market Days and the Pomme de Terre Chamber of Commerce. Despite the beautiful morning, dark clouds loomed and a warning was issued about an approaching storm. As predicted, the storm hit with full force, causing chaos and destruction. Our firefighters quickly sprung into action, securing the area and ensuring that no injuries occurred.

Despite the setback and numerous calls for service the day continued with a lovely evening of fireworks, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Central Firefighters. Their commitment to serving and protecting the community is truly commendable.
