Our District lost a 31 year member recently. Our condolences to George and the family.

Sad News – Hazel Kinzer

Hazel Kinzer died in her home on July 28, 2026. She was
active in Kiwanis, P.E.O. and Daughters of the American
Revolution. An excellent cook, she taught numerous cooking
classes and published her own cookbook. She was a member
of the Kiwanis Club of Columbine for 31 years.

Within Kiwanis, she served as a President of the Columbine Kiwanis
Club, and as Lt Governor for the previous Division 9. She
attended numerous Kiwanis District and International
Conventions. Hazel accompanied her husband, George, on
visits to many Kiwanis Clubs in Colorado, Wyoming, and
Nebraska the year he was Kiwanis District Governor. She
participated in the Kiwanis Club of Columbine Satellite
Group. Hazel is survived by her husband, George Kinzer, by
her children Kathleen Sorensen and Craig Kinzer, five Grandchildren, and brother, James Durham.

A Celebration of Life is expected near the end of August (Date to be established later) at Littleton United Methodist Church in Littleton. In Lieu of flowers, gifts to the Kiwanis Club of Columbine Foundation would be appreciated, sustaining Hazel's efforts to help the community and to help children.
