Pure Americanism-True Faith and Allegiance
What is Pure Americanism? To me, it starts and ends with a symbol of America, the flag of the United States, Old Glory. Many men and women have fought for this symbol of Pure Americanism, many have sacrificed their lives in defense of the significance of this symbol of America. Unfortunately, most Americans have forgotten what this symbol of True Patriotism and America stands for and why true Patriots are still willing to voluntarily serve to protect it, this symbol of Freedom and Liberty. So, I am going to say what needs to be said with the hope that this post is shared far and wide. And before you even go off on one of your little temper tantrums about hurting someone’s feelings, know this, I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HURTING THE FEELINGS OF SOMEONE WHO STANDS AGAINST THE VERY THING I STAND FOR. If they don’t like this post or while reading, don’t care where it is leading, then scroll on past and find a post that makes you gusher with un-American happiness.
The symbol of the American flag is of revolutionary significance. Beginning with 13, now 50 stars displayed in the canton of the flag, representing the number of states in the union. This number has followed the growth of the United States since its founding. The star is a symbol of the heavens and the divine goal to which man has aspired from time immemorial.
Although the colors red, white, and blue didn’t hold any specific meaning or representation when our flag was adopted in 1777, the colors of the Great Seal of the United States did have specific meaning. Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Continental Congress, reporting to Congress on the seal stated “The colors of the pales are those used in the flag of the United States of America; White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness and valor, and Blue, the color of the Chief, the broad band above the stripes signifies vigilance, perseverance and justice.”
Another overlooked trait of Pure Americanism is Patriotism. As most are guilty of, it is easy to forget the significance of Patriotism. Significant concepts such as this have a tendency to be reduced to political rhetoric. Regrettably, Patriotism is among the many symbols and ideals being stripped of its American distinction.
Being a true Patriot means you are a person with a deep abiding love for this country and our people. It is based on feeling, sentiment and passion toward national loyalty. Sadly, a person with these traits has been labeled a terrorist by our own elected officials. It has been said that Patriotism is a fierce fever, pitiless as the grave, blind as a stone, and irrational as a headless hen. Maybe this is why politicians fear us True American Patriots, because they know they have no chance when going toe to toe with us.
There is no greater Patriot than the American Military Serviceman/Veteran. These men and women have sacrificed more for this country and the people that call America home, most they have never met, and they have done this voluntarily. No one forced them into serving. Doing so requires a dedication and a sense of pride that is beyond measure. November 11th is the day that we honor all those that are serving or who have served in the United States Military, no matter which branch of service. I am deeply and forever grateful for what you are doing and have done as a member of the Greatest Military this world, hell, this universe has ever known. You, my brothers and sisters, you are what makes this the greatest nation in the world. Stand tall and proud, YOU HAVE EARNED IT!!!
Although many have lost their Patriotic Spirit, America is still considered the most Patriotic nation in the world, though with all that has happened and continues to happen here, it is difficult to understand how.
With this being said, there is a silver lining to all this, but it is imperative that we distinguish exactly what it means to be a True American Patriot. First, before we find out what it is, we must first define what it isn’t. American Patriotism is NOT a blind allegiance to land, government, or nation. American Patriotism is a loyalty in the heart of the founding, grounded in the message of the Declaration;
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among them are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted anong men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
It is in the reverence for Freedom and the Principle established in the Declaration of Independence that drives the zeal of American Patriotism. To be an American Patriot means to be attached to a certain set of ideas. We are the heirs of these ideas. Recognizing this doesn’t make us terrorists or enemies of the nation, it makes us countrymen, Americans. This ought not be cheapened by politicians out to further an anti-American agenda but remembered now and forever.
The founders knew what it meant to be True American Patriots, don’t let their ideas die by doing nothing. Remember, a True American Patriot is not someone who just sits idly by hoping that someone else will fight the good fight, it is getting on the front lines proudly proclaiming your love and passion for this nation and recognition of Freedom. Understand it, celebrate it, revere and protect it, but most of all, FIGHT FOR IT! This and only this is what makes true Americanism and Patriotism.
