Excited to stand alongside Mary Ellen Daneels and her team for Monday’s Democracy Convening in Naperville!
Civic education isn't just important, it’s essential. Thanks to the early leadership of my predecessor, Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, alongside Mary Ellen Daneels and Dr. Sean Healy, Illinois didn't just pass civic education into law; we built a system that actively supports our teachers in bringing it to life in the classroom every day.
I am also so grateful for our wonderful ROE team, with a special shout-out to Dr. Vickie Trotter and Adriana Salazar for everything they do to support our educators and keep this vital work moving forward! πŸ‘ Great team effort!
