This , we’re celebrating our client David and the power of community support! Unable to keep up with rent after his landlord sold the building, David lived in his car for more than a year. Thankfully, he made his way to the Access Center where he completed intake and eventually went on to the Interim Housing Center (IHC). There, he found safety, warmth, and much-needed support. David has expressed immense gratitude for the kindness he’s received, which most recently included a new walker to enhance his mobility and ongoing health improvements. As he continues to work towards stability, we're grateful for the community support that rallies behind clients like David, and we look forward to him finding home once again!

To our kind community: your compassion is the driving force behind our mission to end homelessness in DuPage County. Today, 347 neighbors are safe in Interim Housing instead of being at risk on the streets, and with your support we continue to deliver vital services to unhoused individuals in the community through our Street Outreach services.

This morning, our team collaborated with local Metra Police social workers to engage with individuals in need, providing them with essentials and connections to DuPagePads intake services. Over the course of several hours our team connected with 13 individuals providing clean clothing, food and water, and additional resources.

On another , please help us celebrate one neighbor’s incredible journey to recovery! Brenda’s story is a remarkable example of personal resilience and the power of supportive communities. Having experienced three Traumatic Brain Injuries in her teens, Brenda, now in her early thirties, had endured so much at such a young age, and fell into a cycle of homelessness and substance use.

We are thrilled to share, however, that Brenda successfully turned her life around, recently celebrating two years of sobriety! This September also officially marks two years in a home of her own thanks to the DuPagePads Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program. Brenda shared that not having a safe place to stay had previously fueled her depression and addiction issues. However, with the assistance of PSH, she found safety, independence, and opportunities necessary for personal growth. Brenda expressed gratitude to her case managers and to the community for supporting DuPagePads, providing people like her safety and hope.

Today on , we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to two local groups who have gone above and beyond to support DuPagePads and our mission to end homelessness! A huge thank you to the Illinois Tollway and Empire Burgers + Brew in Lombard for their inspiring efforts and generosity in hosting collection drives for neighbors experiencing homelessness. It's and we have a few specific client requests at the top of our list this week. One client needs super menstrual pads and another asked for denture glue and cleaner. At the Interim Housing Center, clients of all ages and background are experiencing homelessness. Thank you for your kindness while they navigate their way back home.
