What does a CASA volunteer actually do? ⭐

When a judge appoints CASA to a child’s case, CASA assigns a trained volunteer advocate. That advocate gets to know the child, stays connected with the people in their life and helps the judge understand their needs and circumstances.

The work often looks like the six things above: showing up, paying attention and being a consistent person in a child’s corner. 💙

Our first Mahjong event is officially in the books! 🀄️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a fun evening of learning, playing and connecting in support of CASA of DuPage County. It was wonderful to see both new and familiar faces gathered around the tables, and we hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as we did.

Judging by the fun we had, this may not be our last Mahjong night! 💜

Meet Tammy—our Senior Advocate Supervisor and, as we like to say, the original! 👋

Tammy guides our volunteer advocates, leads CASA’s book club and reminds us that the little things we do can mean something big to the children we serve.

Swipe to learn a few of her favorites, discover her not-so-hidden powers and find out what might surprise her coworkers—or, apparently, don’t. She can’t tell us. 👀

And if you haven’t met Tammy yet, old-fashioned stovetop popcorn with melted butter—NOT oil—Sean Penn or a good lipstick should make for an easy conversation starter. 😉
