The DuPage County Recorder's Office enrolled over 20 homeowners in the Property Fraud Alert Program at the 2026 Senior Health Fair.

Our office thanks Representative Diane Blair Sherlock for hosting the fair and facilitating a connection between the community of Lombard and the many resources offered.

Today, the DuPage County Recorder’s Office is joining communities across the country in celebrating Dolly Parton Day!

Our office thanks the library for facilitating a collaborative effort to inform the public of Winfield about potential property fraud and the services our office can provide.

Recorder Chaplin recently received an email in her personal inbox advertising a paid service claiming it can “block” property fraud.

Before paying for a service like this, check with your Recorder’s Office. The DuPage County Recorder’s Office offers FREE property alert notifications, and residents are always welcome to visit our office to review the public records associated with their property.

It is also important to know that your property title cannot be “locked.” Property alerts can notify you when a document is recorded, but no service can guarantee that a fraudulent document will never be presented or recorded.

Don’t pay unnecessary fees for services your Recorder’s Office already provides for free.

The DuPage County Recorder’s Office honors today, Constitution Day, commemorating the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

At the DuPage County Recorder’s Office, we preserve land records that document property ownership and tell the story of DuPage County’s growth and change.

Constitution Day reminds us of the importance of preserving the records and history that connect our past to our present.

We love seeing people use our historic records!

Today, a small group from the Downers Grove Museum and Downers Grove Library stopped by the Recorder's Office to explore our historic books and learn a little more about researching DuPage County history.

It's always great to have people in our office using these records to discover people, properties and stories that helped shape our county. You never know what you night find!

The DuPage County Recorder's Office is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th.

Hispanic Heritage Month started in 1968 as a weeklong event under President Lyndon B. Johnson and expanded to a full month in 1988. Hispanic residents make up about 17% of DuPage County's population, and this month we honor the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
