That “foam blob” on a branch isn’t trash.
It’s next season’s pest control team waiting through winter.
Praying mantis egg cases are one of the most overlooked forms of garden wildlife protection. If they get tossed in yard waste, an entire hatch is lost before spring even starts.
• Look for tan, bumpy cases on twigs, fences, and dead stems
• Keep the branch in your garden or place it upright in a shrub
• Avoid bringing it indoors (warm temps can trigger early hatch)
• Let nature release them in spring, right when pests appear
A messy branch today can mean fewer aphids, flies, and mosquitoes tomorrow. 🌿🦗
