Youth Mentoring Network

The Youth Mentoring Network will be at Brooke Hills Park on July 3rd from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We will have games, activites, and park passes for the first 50 kids who visit us. Come find us at Bald Eagle Shelter and we'll celebrate our nation's Independance!

Happy ! The YMN recently went rock climbing at the Highlands Sports Complex and enjoyed a nice dinner afterwards. Everyone had a blast!

Today is and we would like to share a piece of work that one of our mentees wrote for their high school newspaper about our mentoring program. (See second photo for article)

We are seeing long-lasting relationships being built between our mentors and mentees. We are so happy our mentees are finding their voice and sharing it with their communities!

Huge shout out to the Child Nutrition Department in OCS for making sure student stomachs are full!

Various locations are open from 11:30-12:30 today.

Meals can be eaten on site or taken to go.

Sarah Gamble, Supervisor of Community Based Services, shares why mentoring is so important.

She says, "Youth mentoring provides young people with a consistent, supportive adult figure who can guide them through challenges, boost their self-esteem, improve academic performance, encourage positive life choices, and assist them in developing crucial life skills, ultimately leading to better outcomes in personal well-being, education, and career, especially for those who might lack a strong support system at home; essentially, it helps young people feel valued and not alone, fostering a sense of belonging for positive growth."
