📚 The Revolutionary World of a Free NJ Black Man: Jacob Francis -- second in a series of lectures co-presented by the library and the County College of Morris.

Historian, author, and speaker Larry Kidder presents a talk on Jacob Francis of Amwell Township, Hunterdon County — indentured as a young man, he regained his freedom and enlisted in a Massachusetts Continental regiment in 1775, serving through the siege of Boston, the New York campaign, and the Battle of Trenton before returning home to serve in NJ militia duty for the rest of the war. Q&A to follow the presentation.

Presented in partnership with County College of Morris.

📅 Wed., 9/23/26, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Thank you to Samantha of Zoophoria NJ and all her exotic friends for visiting us last week! We had a lot of fun meeting and, if we wished, touching our new friends Noodles (the red-tailed boa), Arnold (the alligator), Tripod (the silpada tortoise), Cheeseburger (the Cane toad), and Salamimami (the blue-tongued skink; unfortunately, no photo). Zoophoria's visit was sponsored by Clean Communities.
