The NC Governor's Highway Safety Program is urging drivers and passengers to buckle up as part of the annual Memorial Day "Click It or Ticket" campaign.
The statewide enforcement and awareness campaign will run through May 31, coinciding with one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. We will be increasing patrols throughout the holiday travel period to ensure drivers and passengers are properly restrained.
The Memorial Day weekend traditionally marks the unofficial start of summer travel, bringing heavier traffic volumes to interstates, highways and local roads statewide.
We are reminding drivers to avoid distractions, obey posted speed limits and plan ahead before traveling. Stay safe out there! 🇺🇸
