🚨 MISSING PERSON – CHARLES RAY SIMMONS 🚨

The Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Charles Ray Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was last seen at approximately 11:30 PM on August 30, 2026, near Hardy Pond in Big Prairie Township.

He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a blue camo button up shirt and had a safari type hat on.

If you have seen Mr. Simmons, know his whereabouts, or have any information that may assist deputies in locating him, please contact:

The Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying this subject in connection with a theft.

This incident occurred around 12:50 AM on Friday 8/28/2026 in Big Prairie Township.

If you have any information or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around this time please contact Deputy Johnson at 231-349-5213. Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated.

The yellow school buses are hitting the roads, and our kids are heading back to school!

As the new school year begins, we’re asking everyone to slow down, stay alert, and watch for children getting on and off buses, walking to school, and crossing roads.

🛑 When a school bus stops and its red lights are flashing, STOP.

🚗 Give buses plenty of room and never pass a stopped school bus with flashing red lights.

👀 Watch carefully in school zones, neighborhoods, and around bus stops.

🐢 Slow down and be prepared for children who may not always be paying attention to traffic.

Let’s work together to make sure every student makes it to school—and back home—safely each day.
