Fourteen students took the next step in their EMS careers last night as our Advanced EMT class officially got underway!

Over the coming months, these students will build upon their EMT knowledge, develop advanced patient-care skills, and strengthen their ability to serve their communities when they are needed most.

We are excited to work with this group and watch them learn, grow, and challenge themselves throughout the course. Please join us in wishing them success as they begin their journey toward becoming Advanced EMTs!

🌊 TEAM RUBICON IS HERE TO HELP! 🇺🇸

Following the recent flooding and severe storms in our area, Team Rubicon is working alongside local partners to help our community recover.

Newton Township Fire Department is proud to be housing Team Rubicon as they work throughout our area to assist residents impacted by the recent flooding and storm damage. We are honored to provide a home base for these dedicated volunteers as they serve our community.

Their disaster-response volunteers are assisting with:

🔨 Flood cleanup and recovery
🧹 Storm and flood debris removal
🏠 Property cleanup and damage mitigation
💪 Helping homeowners begin the recovery process
🤝 Supporting local families and communities in the aftermath of disaster

Team Rubicon brings trained volunteers and resources directly into communities affected by disasters, helping families take the next steps toward getting their homes and lives back in order.

Newton Township Fire Department is proud to stand alongside Team Rubicon and help connect our community with the assistance they need.

We are incredibly grateful to the Team Rubicon volunteers who have stepped up to help our neighbors during this difficult time. 🇺🇸

⚠️ FLOOD SHELTER OPEN ⚠️

Due to severe flooding in and around Crooksville, Newton Township Fire Department has opened the gymnasium at our station as a temporary shelter for anyone who is unable to safely return home.

Cots and space are available for those who need a safe place to stay.

Congratulations to the students of our 36-Hour Volunteer Firefighter Class!

The class officially concluded today, and we are proud to announce that every student successfully passed their final exam and completed all required practical skills testing.

Their next step will be taking the state certification test to earn their Volunteer Firefighter certification.

Over the past several weeks, these students have dedicated their time to learning and demonstrating the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to serve their communities safely and effectively. We are proud of the hard work, determination, and teamwork they displayed throughout the course.

Thank you to our instructors and everyone who helped make this class possible. Please join us in congratulating these students and wishing them the best of luck on their state testing!

AEMT CLASS REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

The Newton Township Training Division is now accepting applications for our upcoming Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course.

This accelerated program begins August 31, 2026, and concludes January 6, 2027. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at:

Applicants must successfully complete an EMT-B knowledge entrance exam before being accepted into the program.

Course cost: $1,800
Class size: Limited to 15 students
