Hardin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at around 14:40 today for a woods fire. Upon our arrival we determined that we needed Arkansas Forestry Division to assist. Later it was determined that it was spreading towards Mailroute Rd. and we asked for more assistance from Redfield Volunteer Fire Department & Center Grove Volunteer Fire Department . With the size of the fire and our limited access to it we requested Watson Chapel Fire Department & U.S. Army Pine Bluff Arsenal Fire Department and they brought in several side x sides. We also requested assistance from Arkansas State Police Troop E to monitor smoke on I-530 and also requested Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to assist with traffic control. A special thank you to the ones behind the scenes for taking care of us Metropolitan Emergency Communication Association.

Please be advised that this fire could continue to burn for days but, no structures should be endangered. Forestry is still on scene plowing lines around it to keep it contained. Thank you to Heat magazine for keeping the community updated.
