The White Haven Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the White Haven Lions Club for their generous donation of a refrigerator to our department.

This equipment will serve an important role in assisting with the secure storage of evidence when refrigeration is required. In addition, having this resource readily available at the police station will help improve efficiency and allow our officers to spend more time on patrol and less time traveling to access storage facilities.

The support of community organizations like the White Haven Lions Club helps us better serve and protect our residents. We greatly appreciate their continued commitment to making White Haven a safer and stronger community.

Thank you, White Haven Lions Club, for your generosity and support of local law enforcement! πŸ‘πŸš”πŸ’™

πŸš‚ BIG BOY 4014 IS COMING TO WHITE HAVEN THIS WEEKEND! πŸš‚

The legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will be traveling through our area Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th. We are excited to welcome railfans, residents, and visitors who want to witness this historic event.

As you enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the White Haven Borough Police Department reminds everyone that safety must remain the top priority.

⚠️ Please remember:
β€’ Stay off railroad tracks, bridges, and railroad property.
β€’ Only view the train from designated public areas.
β€’ Obey all railroad crossing signals and warning devices.
β€’ Never attempt to beat the train at a crossing.
β€’ Keep children close and supervised at all times.
β€’ Remain alert and avoid distractions such as phones and headphones.
β€’ Follow instructions from police officers, railroad personnel, and event staff.

✳️ Public viewing will be permitted from the White Haven Area Community Library property. However, parking is NOT permitted at the library.
Visitors must park in designated public parking areas and walk to the viewing location.
Visitors are encouraged to use the Lehigh Gorge State Park parking lots located both north and south of town and walk to viewing areas.

A train cannot stop quickly, and trespassing on railroad property is both dangerous and illegal. We want everyone to enjoy this historic visit and return home safely.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping make this a safe and memorable event for our community.

Respect the Train. Protect Our Community.

The White Haven Borough Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to a generous community member for their thoughtful donation of stuffed animals for our officers to carry in their patrol vehicles.

While no child ever wants to find themselves involved in a difficult or stressful situation requiring police assistance, a simple stuffed animal can provide comfort, reassurance, and a sense of security during an otherwise overwhelming moment. These special companions will help our officers offer a small measure of kindness and support to children when they need it most.

Community support like this makes a meaningful difference and reminds us of the compassion that exists throughout our coverage area. Thank you for helping us care for the youngest members of our community.

Your generosity is truly appreciated and will have a positive impact on children during some of their most challenging moments. ❀️

The White Haven Borough Police Department, has partnered with Lehigh Valley Health Network and Jefferson Health to launch the Blue Envelope Program in Luzerne County. The program’s primary goal is to help guide communication between drivers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and police officers during motor vehicle stops.

As part of the program, drivers carry a blue envelope which identifies them as being on the autism spectrum and indicates whether they are verbal or nonverbal. The envelope includes instructions, written on the outside, for what a driver should do when they are pulled over. Inside, a document explains the program and provides contact information for someone who can offer medical information or assistance in communicating with the driver if needed.

Blue envelopes can be picked up starting Tomorrow, 6/2/26, during normal business hours at White Haven Borough Office (312 Main St) Please call the Borough Office (570-443-9129 ext #4) to make sure someone is available. They are also available at the Lehigh Valley Physician Group Pediatric offices. The patient and family information page inside the envelope is available in English and Spanish.
