Today was our annual pump testing on several of our apparatus. We have this done to make sure the equipment is up to spec and catch any issues we don’t see on our truck checks. We also do this for ISO rating and be in compliance with NFPA 1911. Pictured is Engine 51 and Tender 67 out of Station 2.

On 04/19/26 at approximately 03:02 MPFPD was dispatched for a First Alarm for a report of a garage on fire. Engine 51 arrived within minutes to find a two car garage already collapsed with extension to a nearby residence. Engine 51 crew made an interior fire attack on the home to prevent the spread while the deck gun on the Engine was used to control the fire on the garage. The fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes. Crews worked for approximately 3 hours before returning to service. The residents were displaced due to the fire and are in contact with American Red Cross. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. No other information will be released at this time.
