The purpose of the White House Public Library’s page is to provide patrons with news, stories, schedule events, photos, and information about the library and museum. Comments, posts, and messages are welcome on the site; however, the library staff has the right to monitor and delete any posting it deems unacceptable. The library recognizes and respects different opinions, but requests tha
t postings do not contain any of the following:
• Obscene or racist content
• Personal attacks, insults, and hateful, abusive or threatening language
• Potentially libelous statements
• Plagiarized or copy-written material
• Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
• Private, personal information published without consent
• Comments unrelated to the content of the forum
• Hyperlinks to material that is not directly related to the discussion
• Commercial promotions or spam
• Organized political or religious activity or proselytizing
• Photos or other images that fall in any of the above categories
The library will not collect or use the personal information stored on any third party social media site other than to communicate with patrons. Additionally, the library does not endorse or review content outside the White House Public Library pages. The library maintains the right to terminate the page at any time without notifying subscribers. Participation in the White House Public Library’s social media pages implies agreement with all library policies. If users do not agree to the terms of the library’s policies, they are not to interact on library-sponsored social media services. Users should be aware that third party websites have their own privacy policies and act accordingly.
