SCENIC CRUISE & CRAB FEAST

Travel by motor coach to the famous Su***de Bridge Restaurant in Hurlock, MD, where we’ll board a charming sternwheeler riverboat for a 3-hour scenic cruise along the Choptank River. Whether it’s practice, game day, or training season, preventing sports injuries starts before you step onto the field.

Here are a few important safety reminders:
✅ Warm up and stretch before activity
✅ Stay hydrated before, during, and after games
✅ Wear properly fitted protective equipment
✅ Don’t ignore pain or signs of injury
✅ Take breaks and allow time for recovery
✅ Know the signs of concussion and report symptoms immediately

Pushing through an injury can turn a minor issue into a serious one. Listen to your body and look out for your teammates.

Stay safe, stay strong, and have a great season from your local volunteer firefighters & EMS providers!

SERVING WITH PRIDE!

People from all backgrounds have stepped forward to serve at White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company and communities across the country. Throughout history, many individuals have helped shape the profession through their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others.

Today, we recognize LGBTQ+ firefighters and EMS professionals, including pioneers such as R. Kevin Mallinson, America's first openly gay professional firefighter; Brooke Guinan, the FDNY's first openly transgender firefighter; and Lillian Bonsignore, the FDNY's first openly gay Fire Commissioner.

Their contributions are an important part of this history and a reminder that our shared mission has always been centered on serving and protecting our communities.

Do you know what June brings with it? The start of hurricane season which continues throughout the United States until November 30. During that time Marylanders can expect drastic and unexpected changes in weather on a daily or weekly basis.

This includes strong thunderstorms, lightning, and flooding conditions. The key to overcoming such drastic weather conditions is preparation.

Simply stated, it is always a good idea to have an emergency preparedness kit in your car or truck to include such items as, a good blanket, flashlight or lantern, first aid supplies and battery changer as a minimum.

The best time to prepare for extreme weather conditions is now, before they arise.
Take action TODAY to be better prepared for when the worst happens. Understand your risk from hurricanes and begin pre-season preparations now. Make sure you have multiple ways of receiving forecasts and alerts, and know what to do before, during, and after a storm.
