WMNC is hiring a Caretaker. $25/hour, 20 hours a pay period (every two weeks). Flexible hours. Caretaker will be responsible for looking after and some light maintenance of the property owned by WMNC, in White Mountain.

Job Description: Inspect the exterior and interior of buildings, maintain equipment (chainsaws, brush cutters, 4-wheeler), clear brush around the buildings, and no trespass signs along the river. Other duties as assigned.

Shareholders and descendants of Shareholders will be given preference. The deadline to apply is July 31. Applicants will be interviewed, August 1.

Did you know that you can apply for almost Free training to become a journeyman in a trade of your choice? For example, the CONSTRUCTION CRAFT LABORER APPRENTICESHIP program has a four-week training course in Anchorage or Fairbanks. You can get your airfare, food and lodging paid for while you learn how to be a Laborer for major construction projects like the upcoming Port of Nome project.

Go to the Alaska Laborers Training School (aklts.org) website to download an application or apply online.

Did you know that if you are an Adult (18 or Older) Tribal Member of a Tribe within the Bering Straits Region you can apply for scholarships from Bering Straits Foundation (BSF), Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation (NSEDC), Kawerak, Inc., Norton Sound Health Corporation (NSHC) and Sitnasuak Foundation (SF)on one Nifty website called MyCache.

Go to MyCache (my-cache.org) to apply for a scholarship today.

For example, you can get most of your tuition paid for to attend Vocational Training in Alaska.

Are you ready to get your Commercial Driver’s License CDL?

You can apply for scholarships on MyCache for a CDL training program.

Northern Industrial Training (NIT) in Palmer has a 160 hour Pro Truck Driver class that costs $9,200. Does not include airfare, food, or lodging.

Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) in Soldotna has an 20 day Entry Level Driver Training program class that costs $9,595. Includes housing but no meals or airfare. The facility is communal style living onsite.
