We are humbled to be a part of such an incredible and supportive community! ❤️🚒🔥

As power continues to be restored throughout the Village and WP/Mottville Townships, we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who played a role in the cleanup efforts following last night’s storm.

From the meteorologists who closely monitored the storm, to Central Dispatch/Ambulance/Police/Fire personnel answering emergency calls, to the SJC Road Commission crews clearing and reopening roads, to the linemen and linewomen working to restore power—and everyone in between that had a hand in assisting—thank you for your service!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the White Pigeon Township Fire Department, WPPD, WP DPW, and Jason Trosper for leaving their homes to go out into the storm to ensure our community was cared for and kept safe. Your willingness to step in wherever needed—clearing downed power/communication lines, removing trees/debris from roadways, and helping prevent additional emergencies—did not go unnoticed ❤️

Last night’s outcome could have been more significant and/or deadly. We are appreciative that our community, as a whole, was unharmed!

WPFD is out assessing damage and marking trees/power lines. Please stay home so we can have our focus be on clearing damage. If you do NOT need to be out, STAY HOME! If you do need to be out, drive slowly and be on a continuous lookout for trees, power lines, and other debris in the roadway.

We have had some people reach out so we also just want to clarify that our roof did not blow off and thankfully, it is still intact.

It is not very often we get to lend a hand to our neighbors to the south, but we are thankful we could provide some extra assistance! 🔥🚒

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our mutual aid partners for their assistance and support on scene: Middlebury Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Osolo Fire & EMS, Concord Fire Department, White Pigeon Fire Department and SEPSA Fire Authority/Porter Fire Department.

We are grateful for the strong partnerships and teamwork that help us protect our community each day.

Today is International Firefighter Day! We couldn’t say thank you enough to all of our firefighters (past and present) that answer the call in other’s times of need.

Many may not know that our department is a volunteer department. Our firefighters have full-time jobs outside of the fire department! These individuals are your neighbors and friends and sacrifice numerous things to respond in other’s worst time.

If you see a firefighter out and about, be sure to thank them for the many things they do for our wonderful community! We are beyond blessed to have them ❤️🔥🚒

Sadly, these kinds of incidents are becoming more frequent. MOVE OVER AND SLOW DOWN!!!
