The Hartford Parks & Recreation Department would like to thank the Hartford Monument Committee and everyone who attended Monday’s dedication of the new veterans monument in Veterans Park.

Despite the rainy forecast, the weather cleared just in time for a meaningful ceremony honoring the sacrifices and service of generations of Hartford’s veterans. The strong community turnout demonstrated the community's continued commitment to honor those who served.

For many of the veterans included on the new monument, this marks the first time their names have been permanently displayed in our community.

Thank you to the Hartford Monument Committee, event speakers, volunteers, veterans, families, and community members who helped make this a memorable and meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
