SHOT DEPUTY RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL: Great News... Peoria County Sheriff's Office, IL Deputy Jack Evans was released from the hospital Saturday after being shot on January 31. The 24-year-old deputy, who suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and his torso, was escorted home by fellow deputies, Peoria Police, and local fire departments. Sheriff Chris Watkins thanked the community for its prayers and support, saying Evans has a long road to recovery but won’t face it alone. A 51-year-old suspect was arrested two hours after the shooting and charged with attempted murder. Please keep Deputy Evans in your thoughts as he continues to heal.
