Brewer High School students in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy program recently partnered with Under The Bridge Fort Worth to help individuals experiencing homelessness. The students served 250 meals and passed out 100 bags with snacks, gloves, hats, hand warmers and socks that they’d made by collecting donations.

The Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, sponsored by Ken Miller with Chick-fil-A White Settlement, enables select students to meet monthly and learn the leadership curriculum and participate in community service projects throughout the school year.

Update as of Dec. 20 - Silver Creek Road entrance at BHS

Signal light work will begin Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Brewer High School entrance, and the entrance will be closed. Construction on the intersection will begin Tuesday, with the goal of having the work completed at the entrance to the school by the end of next week. Construction crews will then transition the traffic control plan to block off both the east and west bound inside lanes to work on the median section of the road. All work should be completed by mid-January, if not sooner.

Original post:

The City of Fort Worth will be closing the Silver Creek Road entrance to Brewer High School later this week. The direction of traffic will change on that road again sometime this week as well. These are all the details we have at this time.

Brewer FFA students competed in the 3rd annual Brewer Bear Barn Bonanza to showcase their livestock. Students exhibited their animals in front of a judge, who provided feedback to prepare for stock show season.

A few students loaned their pigs to Superintendent Frank Molinar, Principal Daryl Porter and School Board Member Raymond Patterson who experienced first-hand what this hard working group of kids does to prepare for competition season.

Congrats to the winners!
