FROM THE DESK OF THE CITY MANAGER
I would like to take a moment to tell you about some grant opportunities that are currently available for local small businesses; the Rural Relief Small Business Grant offered by LISC and the Tarrant County Small Business Assistance Program. The first is the Rural Relief Small Business Grants Program which provides assistance to small businesses in rural communities with a population of 50,000 or less. This grant is funded by private money which makes it available to small businesses who may have already received a government small business grant this year. The current round of applications are due by November 2nd but there will be three additional application periods:

November 26 - December 2
December 29 - January 5
January 26 - February 2

Small businesses that do not secure a grant during one application period can apply again in the next period. To learn more about the Rural Relief Small Business Grants Program please visit:
https://www.lisc.org/covid-19/small-business-assistance/small-business-relief-grants/frequently-asked-questions/

To apply for the Rural Relief Small Business Grants program please visit:
https://lisc.tfaforms.net/234

The other grant opportunity our small businesses should be aware of is the second round of Tarrant County’s Small Business Assistance Program. If you own a small business and did not receive a grant from this program the first time around you are encouraged to apply. Over $17 million was provided to help small businesses all across Tarrant County in round one of this grant program. Applications for the Small Business Assistance Program are due by 6 pm on November 10.

To learn more about the Small Business Assistance Program and to apply please visit:

Thank you to all who have supported our local businesses whenever possible and to our business owners and their employees who continue to weather this difficult year.

Thank you,
Jeffrey J. James

Due to the ongoing issues that have been occurring with the traffic signal at the intersection of South Las Vegas Trail and Tumbleweed the decision has been made to turn off this traffic signal for the time being and have it act as a four way stop instead. We are working with a repair company and are taking whatever steps necessary to get this traffic signal fully fixed and achieve dependable operation. We ask that you please exercise caution when travelling through this intersection while we work to get this traffic signal operational.
