Weekly update 7/27-8/3: 1 e-scooter and 1 bike theft (Richards; 1600blk E Hampton). Between 7/26-7/27, an Epiphone Bass was stolen from the 5200blk N Berkeley. On 8/1 at 2:46am, a 911 caller stated that their father had stabbed their mother and their siblings were tied up. This was determined to be a "swatting" call. Swatting calls are fake 911 calls that are very dangerous and a waste of resources. The investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the call.

🚨The Hampton & Oak Leaf Trail Crossing Saga🚨

Before the comments become a 300-reply debate with someone’s uncle quoting “what I learned in driver’s ed in 1987”… let’s clear this up. 😅

🛑 Bicyclists & pedestrians: There’s a STOP sign where the Oak Leaf Trail crosses Hampton. Yep… it means stop.

⚠️ Drivers: Once a bicyclist or pedestrian has gained control of the crossing, you need to stop and yield.

🚸 “Gained control” means they’re actually in the crosswalk. If they’re still 10 feet away, we promise your car didn’t come with telepathy. 🔮

💨 Also… bicyclists and pedestrians can’t launch themselves into traffic like they’re auditioning for an action movie.

🤯 Plot twist: This crossing isn’t even in Whitefish Bay… it’s in Milwaukee.

❤️ We know a lot of you travel through here, and we’d really like everyone to make it home safely.

🙏 And for the love of all things traffic-related… let’s keep the comments friendlier than a four-way stop. 😉
