🚨 LIVE DEMO ALERT 🚨

Join the Whitehall Fire Department on Saturday, May 16th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for an exciting Jaws of Life demonstration!

Come see how the Jaws of Life are used during real emergency rescues and learn how firefighters safely remove victims from crashed vehicles. We’ll be cutting up an actual car during the demonstration so you can see the tools and techniques in action firsthand.

This is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about rescue operations and the equipment that helps save lives every day.

Bring the family and check it out! 🚒🛠️

🚒 Whitehall Fire Department Safety Reminder – Heavy Snow ❄️🚨

With the large amounts of snow expected and accumulating, the Whitehall Fire Department would like to remind residents to check and clear the outside vents for your home’s HVAC and exhaust systems.

Snow and ice can quickly block furnace, water heater, and dryer vents, preventing harmful gases from venting properly. When vents become obstructed, carbon monoxide (CO) can build up inside your home. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that can be extremely dangerous.

As you shovel and clear snow around your home, please take a moment to check your vents.

✅ Safety Tips:
• Clear snow away from furnace, water heater, and dryer exhaust vents
• Check vents regularly during and after heavy snowfall
• Make sure vent covers remain clear and unobstructed
• Test your carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working properly

⚠️ If you experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, or confusion, get outside to fresh air immediately and call 911.

A quick check during and after the storm can help keep your family safe.

Please share this reminder with your neighbors, especially as we deal with heavy snowfall.
