For the last two days and two nights (now thanks to a cancelled flight) the RVFC truck committee has been at Pierce Mfg for a pre-construction meeting for the new Squad 32. In April 2023 Branchburg township approved the purchase of a replacement apparatus and our build spot is coming up.

During pre-construction the committee toured the factory to see the construction process and look at ideas from other trucks. Following the tour we met to plan out compartment, switch, lighting layouts, and finally go over graphics.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves…. 😂Thanks Raritan Township Fire Company

Over the next day or two, you may notice hazy skies or the smell of smoke throughout our area. This is due to smoke from the ongoing Canadian wildfires being carried into our region by the upper-level winds.

While the smoke may be noticeable at times, there is no cause for alarm. Depending on conditions, it may reduce visibility and temporarily impact air quality, especially for those with asthma, COPD, or other respiratory conditions.

If you're sensitive to smoke: • Limit prolonged outdoor activity if the air quality worsens. • Keep windows closed if smoke becomes heavy. • Monitor local air quality conditions before spending extended time outdoors.

The Raritan Township Fire Company will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if needed. As always, if you see active flames or a localized smoke column, don't assume it's related to the wildfire smoke—call 9-1-1 so it can be investigated.

New Equipment Alert: Last evening the mounting was completed (for the most part) in house of our new state of the art Holmatro Extrication Tools purchased from ESI Equipment. With the pre-construction trip for our new truck on the horizon, last last year RVFC asked Township of Branchburg for a capital purchase to update our dated extrication equipment and they delivered! These battery powered extrication tools will be able to be placed into operation on scenes quicker and are designed to tackle the challenges of the modern day vehicle technologies with ease!

Equipment in placed into service include:
Holmatro Pentheon
PSP50 Spreader
PCU50 Cutter
PTR50 Ram
TRE04 and TRE05 Ram Extensions
CCU10 Mini Cutter
Cross Ram Support Set
Junkyard Dog Crash Bag
6 batteries, 3 chargers, and tool cables

The mounting was completed in house with Poly-Tech Amercia Tilt and deploy mounts provided by First Due Fabrication.

We would like to thank Branchburg Township for their continued support of our efforts and looking forwarded to seeing these tools on our new truck and in service for years to come!
