🍪 Another sweet addition to Whitehouse!

The Cookie Decorating Studio has taken an exciting step with the opening of its new storefront in Whitehouse.

Moving into a dedicated commercial space marks an important milestone for a local business and adds another unique destination for residents and visitors to enjoy right here in our community.

The Cookie Decorating Studio is a new event venue in Whitehouse, Texas. The studio offers cookie decorating events as a special experience for friends, family and co-workers.

You can sign up for $20 classes and enjoy a beautiful setting as you are guided step by step on how to decorate your themed set of cookies with a pre-recorded video tutorial. These events last 45 minutes and are an affordable way to do something fun in town with the kids.

Live events are $35 with in person step by step guidance on how to decorate your themed set of cookies. These events are adults only and are available on Tuesday evenings or Saturday afternoons. Usually they last 90 minutes and are perfect for a date night or girl’s night out.

At the front of the space is a unique treat shop stocked full of delicious cookies, cake pops, and many other gourmet quality individually packaged sweets. The vendor for the store is Good Juju Gourmet Cookies - a long time favorite in East Texas.

The store hours are Tuesday thru Thursday 12 - 8 pm, Friday 12-10 pm and Saturday 12-6 pm.

The studio is also available for private bookings for up to 12 guests. For larger groups or children’s parties, you can request to have those scheduled at your location.

The owner, Julia Bradshaw, has over 9 years experience hosting fun and interactive cookie decorating workshops all over East Texas. Julia is a long-time resident of Whitehouse with her youngest being a Freshman this year. She has been providing businesses and individuals with gourmet quality cookies since 2016.

📊 Staying informed. Thinking regionally. Planning locally.

Members of the Whitehouse EDC Board joined City and community partners today at UT Tyler’s Soules College of Business for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas presentation, At the Heart of Texas and Texas Economic Update: Momentum Builds in the Regional Economy.

The presentation provided valuable insight into economic conditions, industry trends and opportunities affecting the Tyler-Longview region—and important context as we continue planning for Whitehouse’s future.

Among the trends discussed were the growth of industries such as aerospace, defense and security, along with the significant increase in data center construction across Texas. Understanding where investment and employment are growing helps us better understand the forces shaping our regional economy.

We were glad to have members of our EDC Board attend alongside the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, City Manager and City Finance Director. Bringing different perspectives to the table helps us consider what regional trends may mean for our businesses, workforce and future development opportunities here at home.

Economic development doesn’t happen in isolation. Staying connected to what is happening across our region—and understanding the data behind it—helps us make more informed decisions for Whitehouse.

Thank you to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and The University of Texas at Tyler Soules College of Business for bringing this valuable economic conversation to East Texas.

☕ Economic development is built on relationships—and informed by conversations like these.

Earlier today, Aaron Martinez and I had the opportunity to attend the Tyler Economic Development Council’s Quarterly Investor Breakfast, where we connected with Scott Martinez, President & CEO of the Tyler Economic Development Council, and business and community leaders from across East Texas.

This quarter’s discussion focused on the state of healthcare in Smith County—a topic that impacts our residents, workforce, employers, and the continued growth of our region.

Regional partnerships and opportunities to learn from one another help us stay informed about the issues shaping East Texas and ensure Whitehouse remains engaged in conversations that matter.

Thank you to the Tyler Economic Development Council for hosting another outstanding Investor Breakfast. We appreciate the opportunity to represent Whitehouse and continue building strong regional partnerships.
