Please don’t forget to change your smoke detector batteries and also set your clocks back.

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour this weekend! And while you're at it, it’s a great time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Smoke alarms save lives!

Ask family and friends to help you check your home for fall hazards and remove them. Taking small steps now can make your home safer and reduce your risk of falls in an emergency.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the National Council on Aging encourage you to take action this .

Remember, please drive safely. Someone loves you.

For many teens, getting their driver’s license is the most exciting milestone of high school. Driving to school, practice, or a friend’s house means new independence and new responsibilities. Behind the scenes, parents still play a big role in keeping them safe. This school year, make sure your teen knows these important driver safety tips!

Keep an eye out for Fire Prevention Week. Make lithium batteries work for you.

Keep an eye out for Fire Prevention Week. Make lithium batteries work for you.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Charge into Fire Safety™,” focuses on the safe use of lithium-ion batteries, a growing cause of fires.

Follow these key steps to reduce risk:
• Buy only certified products
• Charge devices with approved chargers on hard surfaces and avoid overcharging
• Recycle batteries properly — not using a trash or regular recycling bin. Instead, find a safe location at call2recyle.org

Participate in Fire Prevention Week, October 5–11, and support your community by spreading awareness. Learn more at fpw.org.

This 4th of July, celebrate with fun that’s safe for everyone. Swap the fireworks for glow sticks, a backyard movie, patriotic crafts, or a silly string battle. Let’s make memories for all the right reasons.
