Whiteland Police Department The Whiteland Police Department is a full service agency employing fifteen full-time officers. If you have an emergency to report please dial 911.

All non-emergency calls are answered at 317-736-5155 by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center. We welcome your comments, however, please note this is a moderated online discussion page and not a public forum. 🎃 Extra Patrols for a Safe Halloween! 🚔

On Saturday, October 31, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office will have additional deputies and marked patrol vehicles out during the hours shown on this flier to help protect children and families enjoying Halloween.

We are not telling families when they must trick-or-treat. These hours help explain when we will have an increased patrol presence, with deputies watching for traffic concerns and helping everyone enjoy a safe evening.

Drivers, please slow down, put away distractions, and watch closely for children crossing streets or walking near the roadway. Parents, help your little ghosts and goblins stay visible, cross safely, and remain with their group.

What: Road Closure on Whiteland Road, between CR 75 W and Sawmill/Centerline Rd.

When: On or after Monday Oct 12ᵗʰ for up to 30 days, weather permitting.

Who: Contractor for the Johnson County Highway Dept.

Why: Culvert replacement on Whiteland Rd.
Detour: State Road 135, Stones Crossing Rd/Worthsville Rd, and US 31. See attached detour map.

Community Clean Up Day is THIS Saturday!

📍Elm St. - east of the Whiteland Fire Dept at 141 S. State St.

This is a free event for WHITELAND residents to dispose of their unwanted items.
Items include:
• Yard waste, brush, wood
• General household waste, rubbish & debris
• Office waste
• General construction & demolition debris
• Electronics
• NO liquids, hazardous waste, or infectious waste
• NO Tires
• NO Paint (oil or latex)
• NO Household chemicals

Today we’re giving a big shoutout to K9 RIGGS to recognize his hard work, loyalty, and service. 🖤💙

Riggs works hard, stays ready, and has one of the most important jobs at WPD—keeping his two-legged partners safe while making sure everyone knows he’s the GOODEST boy on the team. 🐾

We’re lucky to have Riggs serving alongside us and proud of all that he does for the Whiteland community. These four-legged officers play an incredible role in keeping our community safe.

Over the past few weeks, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office has seen a spike in incidents involving the social media trend of juveniles kicking doors at random homes. These actions are not harmless pranks—they cause property damage, create fear for homeowners, and can quickly escalate into dangerous situations.

Recently, the Sheriff's Office deployed additional deputies and detectives to patrol the affected areas in an effort to deter this activity. During those patrols, deputies detained 9 juveniles for curfew violations.

We will continue to have additional deputies and detectives conducting proactive patrols throughout our communities to put an end to this dangerous trend. Our goal is simple: protect our residents, prevent further property damage, and ensure everyone in our community feels safe.

We encourage parents and guardians to have conversations with their children about this trend. Please remind them that what may seem like a joke on social media can have serious consequences, including criminal charges, injury, or worse.

We are also asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individual pictured. The lettering on the back of the sweatshirt appears to read "IRON." If you recognize this individual or have any information related to these incidents, please contact us at [email protected].

By working together as a community, we can stop this trend before more property is damaged or someone is seriously injured. Thank you to everyone who has shared information and continues to support our efforts to keep Johnson County safe. Additional inquiries can be made through the investigations division.
