🚨 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 🚨

AFI 36-2671, SkillBridge Program has been published.
Key Changes to Air Force SkillBridge
The most significant change to the Air Force SkillBridge program is the introduction of a tiered structure that limits the program's length based on an Airman's rank. This change is effective immediately.

Duration Eligible Ranks
120 Days E-1 to E-5 & O-1 to O-3
90 Days E-6 to E-7, WO to CWO-3, & O-4
60 Days E-8 to E-9, CWO-4 to CWO-5, & O-5

- Effective Date: The policy changes are in effect immediately.
- Existing Approvals: Applications that were fully approved before the publication of the new policy (AFI 36-2671) are not affected by these new length requirements.
- Pending Applications: Any application not fully approved at the time of the new policy's publication will now fall under the new tiered structure.
- Colonels (O-6): Participation for Colonels requires an exception-to-policy approval.
- Commander's Authority: Commanders retain the authority to modify previously approved applications if necessary.

Services offered by the Education Center have been impacted by the Government Shutdown. Majority of our staff have been furloughed and we are only able to offer limited Testing services during this time. Non-mandatory test will be canceled and rescheduled to a later date. Additionally, MilTA funds have been shut off. Students will not be able to apply for new funding until the Government Shutdown is resolved.

Please get with your college/university to ensure that you are weighing your options to continue your education during this time and make sure you are making the best financial decision for your situation.

On-base Schools are still open and available to assist you at the PDC.
