We currently have an incident before the Hawley lake and Bear lakes turnoff.
Highway 260 is closed on both lanes from this incident.
We will update when the Highway will re-open.
EDIT: One lane is open, personnel continue to remain on-scene.
EDIT: DPS is on scene and conducting Traffic control. Fire personnel have cleared.

Travel day for our crew!
Brush 813 set for Oregon July 22nd and is currently on the road back to its home station in Whiteriver.
Having worked 14 days on the Bench fire on the Warm Springs Reservation, Brush 813 and its crew of 4 fought fire along side Task force leader 7704, Summit Fire and Medical, Fry Fire District, Congress Fire Department, and City of Maricopa Fire Department. All 5 departments made a task force of 3 type 3 engines, and 2 type 6 engines.
Task force 7704 has taken another assignment for the neighboring Rowe Creek Complex, while all 5 engines begin the long journey back to Arizona.

Brush 813 and 4 members of the White Mountain Apache Fire and Rescue are currently working in the Warm Springs Reservation in Central Oregon on the Bench Fire.

They also offer rope rescue operator and technician classes as well as wildland fire fighter classes, which for our area is required.

As of today, July 2nd 2026, the White Mountain Apache Tribe is on STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS.

This means:
• No burn permits will be issued or honored until further notice.
• Charcoal grills, Campfires or any open flame pits are prohibited from use. Propane grills are allowed in designated campgrounds. Cooking fires, Religious and Ceremonial fires are allowed within the surrounding communities.
• Gas powered tools such as Chainsaws, w**d eaters, or any other gas powered equipment are prohibited from 10am-8pm for any wood cutting/thinning.

Although the restrictions listed below are voluntary, we advise they be followed seeing as we are currently experiencing very little moisture this monsoon season.
