Whitesboro Library Receives Grant

The Whitesboro Public Library has received the Texas Book Festival Grant in the amount of $2,500. The Texas Book Festival founded by Mrs. Laura Bush several years ago. The festival was created to help public libraries with funding for Collection Development, Technology and Special Projects. There is a festival held each November on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol. Book venders, authors, and the public attend each year.
The project that the library applied for was to increase the purchase of large print books and books on cd. Also, to allow funding to offer some programs in the fall such as Identity Protection, Social Security information, and others.
Ginger Garvin, Directory, says "The funding will really help add value to this part of our library. We look forward to providing more material to our library users.

We just want to thank everyone who participated in our book sale! The donations were plentiful and the sale was great! We also want to thank our wonderful volunteers! They put blood, sweat and tears into the sale and we appreciate their hard work!

It's been a busy day! We got a new shipment of newly released books, we are preparing for the children's storytelling time starting MONDAY the 14th, and our conference room is overflowing with book donations for our book sale!
