The Letcher County Republican Party will meet on February 22, 2025 for the purpose of electing new leadership for the 2025-2029 term. The election will be held at 1:00pm at the Letcher County Recreation Center. All Letcher County voters registered Republican as of October 8, 2024 are eligible to attend.

Please bring a current government ID if you wish to vote.

I came to Frankfort to stand up for our working men and women, so I was proud to cosponsor HB 1 which passed the House yesterday.

HB1 will reduce the personal income tax of every Kentucky worker by half a percent starting next January. I hope this will be the first of many tax cuts I will vote on. After all, it’s your paycheck, not the governments!

The Letcher County Republican Party mourns the loss of former Commonwealth’s Attorney Edison Banks. Edison was the longest-serving Republican official in our county’s modern history, and perhaps even in its entire history. We are thankful for his dedicated service to his constituents and his commitment to justice. Please join us in praying for his family and friends this Christmas season.

Craig E. Blackburn (D) - Prestonsburg
Valerie Horn (D) - Whitesburg
Justin Noble (D) - Emmalena
Paul Williams (D) - Prestonsburg

Tanner Hesterberg (I) - Prestonsburg

The party has been unable to ascertain the registration of the following candidates, but they are still eligible for votes:

Andrew Saylor - Wallins Creek
Leonard Hendrickson - Pine Top

There has been some confusion about how this election will work. To be clear, the person who gets the most write-in votes will win a 4-year term. There will be no special elections after the votes are counted on November 5th.
