Single-Vehicle Accident on Silver Spoon Road

On August 26 at approximately 11:05 p.m., members of the North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the 1700 block of Silver Spoon Road.

Whiteville Rescue, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.

One lane of the road was temporarily blocked; however, traffic continued moving without interruption.

Please use caution when approaching emergency scenes and remember to slow down and move over for first responders.

North Whiteville Fire Department

With heavy rain moving through the area this evening, North Whiteville Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Bladenboro Road.

Emergency personnel arrived quickly to assess the scene, provide patient care, and assist with traffic control until the incident was safely cleared.

Wet roads can become hazardous in a matter of seconds. Please slow down, increase your following distance, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Most importantly, remember to move over for emergency responders working along the roadway.

We appreciate the dedication of all agencies that responded and are thankful for everyone’s commitment to keeping our community safe. 🚒🌧️

Tonight, 13 members of the North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department are participating in Adult and Child CPR training through the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) course, offered by Southeastern Community College Continuing Education.

Continuing education and hands-on training help ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond when our community needs them most. We appreciate the dedication of these volunteers who continually invest their time to sharpen their lifesaving skills. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our instructors, David Ransom and Debbie Ward, for sharing their knowledge and expertise.

North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bill Hooks Road and Peacock Road this afternoon.

The call was received at approximately 6:00 PM. Emergency personnel remained on scene for approximately two hours while assisting with the incident and ensuring the safety of responders and motorists. Traffic was diverted in all four directions during that time.

We would like to thank Whiteville Rescue, Chadbourn Rescue, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol for their quick response and assistance.

We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public during this incident.
