Sweet End-of-the-Year Fun in Family & Consumer Sciences!

Our students are wrapping up the school year with some delicious summer inspired treats!

🍦 7th Grade students made homemade ice cream. Students enjoyed shaking, creating, and of course tasting their own ice cream

🍉 6th Grade students created Watermelon Pizza, using watermelon slices topped with yogurt, fruit, and granola for a refreshing and healthy snack.

Both recipes are simple, fun, and perfect for students to make at home during the summer months. ☀️😎

☕🎉 8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences Coffee Cart Wrap-Up! 🎉☕

As we wrapped up another successful Coffee Cart unit, students had the opportunity to enjoy a special treat and try the Whippet Cooler, one of the featured drinks from our staff menu!

Throughout this unit, students gained valuable hands-on experience in customer service, teamwork, communication, money handling, and food and beverage preparation. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.

This week, we will celebrate the success of our Coffee Cart with an end-of-unit party. Thank you to all of our staff members who supported our students by placing orders and encouraging their efforts. Your support helped make this learning experience both meaningful and memorable!

🦋 A magical moment in the LMC! 🦋

Our ELA students recently took part in a special butterfly release!! Watching these beautiful butterflies take flight was an exciting and memorable experience that brought classroom learning to life.

This hands-on opportunity allowed students to witness growth, change, and transformation firsthand while celebrating the culmination of their hard work and curiosity. We loved seeing the excitement on students' faces as they released the butterflies and watched them begin their journey into the world.

What a wonderful way to connect literacy, science, and nature together! 🌿☀️🦋

Students from Miss D’s, Ms. Orlo’s, and Ms. Pesick’s Fun Flex Friday classes enjoyed some well-earned time outside this week celebrating an amazing accomplishment — ending the school year with NO missing work! ☀️👏

To celebrate their hard work, responsibility, and dedication, students headed outside to create colorful sidewalk chalk art and enjoy the beautiful weather together. We are so proud of these students for finishing the year strong and showing what it means to stay on top of their work all year long! 🎨🖍️

Our Middle School Student Council had an amazing time at the Milwaukee Brewers game! ⚾️💙 From cheering in the stands to spending time together outside of school, the trip was filled with fun, laughter, and great memories. Experiences like these help our students build friendships, strengthen teamwork, and celebrate all of the hard work they put into making our school community so great.

Learning new academic content is already challenging — but our multilingual students do it while simultaneously developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in another language every single day. The growth we celebrated on May 22 represents the resilience, determination, courage, persistence, and belief in themselves to grow in a second language!

Students were recognized for growth in their WIDA ACCESS scores, for increasing proficiency levels, and for reaching the incredible milestone of exiting the Multilingual Program. Every point of growth matters!

A special congratulations to the 5 students who attained a 4.5+ comprehensive proficiency level and officially exited the ML program! This accomplishment reflects years of hard work and commitment.

We are beyond proud of all our multilingual learners. Their achievements remind us that being multilingual is not only a skill, but a powerful strength that enriches our schools, communities, and future.

After some tough competition and lots of delicious creativity, we are excited to announce the 7th grade Grilled Cheese Champion! 🎉👏

Congratulations to our champion, Candied Meat-eor Shower for creating the ultimate combination of flavor! 🧀🔥

Thank you to everyone who participated, tasted, judged, and supported our Grilled Cheese Challenge. The creativity and teamwork were amazing to see!

In 7th grade Family and Consumer Sciences, students participated in a Grilled Cheese Challenge. 🥪 Students worked collaboratively in teams to design and create a signature grilled cheese sandwich, completed a test run, and then prepared their final product for a panel of judges. Through this process, students developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills while practicing effective communication within their groups and when presenting to others.

The overall winner from each section will now move on to the final round to crown the overall 7th grade Grilled Cheese Champion! Winning grilled cheese sandwiches competing on Wednesday during Flex are:

7A1: The Spicy Sandwich Flame
7A2: Cheesy Bacon
7B1: Sweet and Spicy
7B2: The Scorcher and Candied Meat-eor Shower
