❄️ Important Winter Safety Reminder ❄️

With the current snowfall and drifting conditions, please take a moment to check the outside vents for your furnace and other gas appliances. Snow and drifting can easily block exhaust or intake vents, which may cause dangerous gases like carbon monoxide to back up into your home.

Please take a few minutes to:
• Locate your furnace and water heater vents outside your home
• Clear away snow and ice around the pipes
• Ensure vents are fully open and not buried by drifting snow
• Continue checking them after storms and during windy conditions that cause drifting

A blocked vent can quickly become a serious safety hazard, but it’s an easy thing to prevent with a quick check.

As always, make sure your home has working carbon monoxide detectors on every level.

Stay safe and warm everyone! đźš’

❄️ Help Us Keep Hydrants Accessible! 🚒

With the current snowfall, some fire hydrants around our community may become partially buried or difficult to see and access. In an emergency, every second counts, and firefighters need quick access to hydrants to protect lives and property.

If you have a hydrant near your home or business and are able, please consider taking a few minutes to clear the snow around it. Ideally, clear a path from the street to the hydrant and about 3 feet around all sides so crews can quickly connect hoses if needed.

Your help makes a real difference during emergencies and helps us serve the community more efficiently.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

Thank You from Whitewater Fire & EMS

Whitewater Fire & EMS would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our department and the Deibele family during the funeral services for Firefighter/Paramedic Daria Deibele.

We thank the fire and EMS agencies, law enforcement partners, honor guard members, dispatchers, and public safety professionals who took time to stand with us in remembrance and support. Your presence, professionalism, and solidarity were deeply meaningful.

We are also grateful to the friends, family members, and others who reached out with messages, support, and acts of kindness during this difficult time.

Finally, thank you to those who worked behind the scenes—coordinating logistics, coverage, and planning—allowing our members the opportunity to grieve and honor one of our own.

Daria’s impact on this department will never be forgotten. We are profoundly thankful for the compassion and support shown to our members and to the Deibele family.
