Due to delays in the construction at the library, our craft fair/bake sale, scheduled for Sat, the 13th, has been canceled.

The Friends of the Whiting Public Library will be having their 3rd annual craft fair on Saturday, Dec 13th. If you are interested in being a vendor, please apply at [email protected]. Include your name, number, and photos with description of items to be sold. It will be
$30 to reserve a table. The last day to sign up is Friday, Nov 14th.
If you have already sent in a request, we will get back to you soon.

How can you help Indiana Libraries?

1. Get a Library card! Already have a card? Great! Reach out to friends and family and encourage them to get a card too.

2. Use the Library! Checking out materials or using spaces help increase our stats which helps with library advocacy.

3. Contact your representatives. Let them know how the library has personally affected you and how you feel the library is an important part of our community. Find your legislators here: https://iga.in.gov/information/find-legislators

4. Follow library advocacy groups such as us or national groups such as ALA or EveryLibrary.org to stay up-to-date on issues affecting libraries and ways you can help.

5. Join library supporters across the state at Library Advocacy Day at the Statehouse on Monday, April 14th at 10am. Bring a library book to read as we let legislators know we value libraries in Indiana!

The Friends of the Library supports Whiting Public Library by hosting fundraisers that directly support library programming like our Pictures with the Easter Bunny, craft programs, and community outreach - all of which are FREE for the community! We need your support now more than ever!

Make sure you stop by the library this Saturday for the Friends of the Whiting Public Library 2nd Annual Craft Fair & Bake Sale! This event helps fund our programming and events, like Pictures with Santa, Summer Reading, and Trick or Treat in the Library! 10am-4pm. You’re sure to find some great gifts!
