🍂🥾 The Get Healthy McCreary Adult Hiking Club kicks off its fall hikes with Yahoo Falls this Friday, August 14th! 🌲💦

📍 Meet at the McCreary County Extension Office at 10 a.m. to carpool to the trailhead.

📝 If you have not attended previous hikes, day-of registration is welcome!

Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Kentucky Extension Master Gardener Program in McCreary County!

If you enjoy gardening and want to expand your knowledge while giving back to your community, this program is for you.

Program Highlights
🌿 Classes: Second Tuesday of each month
🕓 4:00–5:30 p.m.
📅 September 2026 – August 2027
💲 $50 registration fee (includes manual and class materials)

Participants who complete the training, pass the final exam, and complete 40 volunteer hours will earn their Kentucky Extension Master Gardener certification.

Calling all KCA Region 5 members 🚨

Join us on Monday, August 17 at 6 PM ET at the Laurel County Extension Office for association updates, learning, networking, and a good meal! This meeting is open to all KCA members in the counties highlighted below.

Hear updates from the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association, Kentucky Beef Council, and more. A representative from the University of Kentucky will be joining us to discuss ticks/pests and how you can protect yourselves and your herd. A meal will be provided.

Welcome to Cloverbuds Day Camp 2026🍀
Our Cloverbuds gathered for a full day of activities. We made wooden napkin holders, created our own bookmarks, made bars of soap, wrote letters to our favorite company (learning how to address an envelope, why stamps are used & how to write letters), shared lunch together & painted butterflies. Did you know a group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope? Their swirling colors & patterns resemble the optical toy. Cloverbuds "churned" their own butter & got to taste it on warm toast. Just like their older siblings at 4-H camp, these Cloverbuds all took home signed T-shirts as well. A HUGE shout out to our 4-Her's, Savannah, Caroline, Dominic & Karson for stepping up & leading the program! Thank you to the parents, grandparents & guardians for all your support! We look forward to the continued growth in our Cloverbuds group.
