Join us for the inaugural Battle of the Badges, as Northfield Township Police Department and Northfield Township Fire Department take the field for a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and fundraising!

🥫Admission for this event is a non-perishable food or toiletry item, with all donations going to the Whitmore Lake Area Human Services Food Pantry. A list of desired items can be found on the WLAHS website wlahs.org/current-need/ No minimum quantity - please give what you can!

Bring your lawn chair and come cheer on your favorite first responders as they battle for the championship and, most importantly, play for a purpose. The event will feature exciting softball, family-friendly fun, and plenty of friendly police-versus-fire rivalry! And let us know in the comments who you are rooting for!

Congratulations Deputy Chief Rennells!

We want to take the opportunity to Congratulate Deputy Chief Rennells on successfully completing the Eastern Michigan University Staff and Command Executive Leadership program. This is a 9 month long program that stresses growth and development of Fire Officers in preparation of taking on leadership roles. In DC Rennells case it was to build upon his current leadership training. Each year about 40 Fire Officers through out the State of Michigan are selected to attend this class. Congratulations DC Rennells.

Letters Of Interest Due by Oct. 21 at 5:30pm for Board of Trustees Appointment

Northfield Township Trustee Nate Muchow submitted his letter of resignation from the Board of Trustees effective Sept. 22, 2026. The Board is expecting to consider appointment of a new Board member at their October 27, 2026, Board meeting.

Individuals interested in being considered for appointment to the Board of Trustees are invited to submit letters of interest. Letters of interest should include a statement as to why you are interested in being a Trustee and any unique qualifications you may have. To be considered for the Board of Trustees, you must be a resident of Northfield Township.

Letters of interest can be delivered to the Township Office at 8350 Main St., or submitted by email to the Township Manager, Douglas McDonough [email protected]. The deadline to submit letters of interest is Wednesday, October 21, 2026, by 5:30pm.

A layer of leaves left intact provides important habitat for wildlife and insects. To reduce neighborhood flooding, keep leaves and other yard waste away from storm drains.
