🦅 Welcome to the Nest: Meet Superintendent Shannon Pitcher-Boyea!

As Whitney Point Central School District prepares for a new school year, we’re excited to welcome Mrs. Shannon Pitcher-Boyea as our new Superintendent of Schools!

🎉 Congratulations, Allyson Doyle!

Please join us in congratulating Allyson Doyle on her new role as Whitney Point CSD’s Director of Special Services!

Allyson brings 19 years of experience in public education to the position, including seven years as a Special Education teacher at the Tioughnioga Riverside Academy and most recently serving as TRA’s Assistant Principal. Her administrative experience also includes serving as a Program Specialist with Nassau BOCES.

We are excited to welcome Allyson to this important leadership role and grateful that she will continue serving the Golden Eagle community in a new capacity.

🧱 LEGO of What You Think You Know!

Looking for a hands-on way for students to explore the world of manufacturing? Beyond the Nest takes us to an opportunity happening right here in our community!

Students ages 8–13, along with their families, teachers and counselors, are invited to Discover Manufacturing from 5–7 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, at SUNY Broome Community College.

Using a LEGO® build as a guide, participants will explore modern manufacturing, learn about manufacturing careers and discover the companies making products close to home. Representatives from SUNY Broome, the Alliance for Manufacturing and Technology and local manufacturers will lead the program.

Manufacturing is more than machines — it’s people, problem-solving and possibilities!

Beyond the Nest: Girls Try Hockey 🏒

Looking for a new activity for your child to explore? Girls ages 4–12 are invited to give hockey a try at the Girls Try Hockey Event on Sunday, September 27, from 5–6:30 p.m. at the SUNY Broome Ice Center.

No hockey experience, or equipment, is needed! All equipment will be provided, giving girls a chance to get on the ice, learn about the sport and have some fun. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet current Binghamton Blizzard players and coaches.

Kimberly will be joining Whitney Point High School as a Math teacher, helping our students build confidence, tackle challenges and discover that there's a lot more to math than just numbers! ➕➗📚

🦅 Welcome to the Nest: Meet Amber Callahan!

We're excited to welcome Amber Callahan to the Whitney Point Golden Eagle family for the 2026-27 school year!

Amber will be joining Caryl E. Adams Primary School as a Long-Term Substitute Third-Grade Teacher, helping our youngest Golden Eagles learn, grow and have a great year! 📚✏️

When she's not in the classroom, Amber loves Disney, gaming, camping, collecting Pokémon and spending time with her twins. 💜🏕️🎮 And when it comes to football, she's a loyal Buffalo Bills fan! ❤️💙🏈

Her favorite color? Purple, of course! 💜

Want to help Amber stock her classroom for the year? Her wish list includes Flair Pens, Post-It Notes, paper, crayons, markers and colored pencils. Every little bit helps!
